Waiting for your User Key?

Escrito por YWeather 15-10-2014 en Support. Comentarios (0)

Hi!

If you are waiting for your user key means that you are a YWeather backer. THANK YOU!

The key generation process is manual at this point. I'm working hard to automate it and pretty soon you'll get your key real time, but unfortunately at this point you can expect a small delay between your contribution and getting the user key. This delay is usually less than 24h, but in some key dates it could be up to 48h.

The user key is sent to your email  linked to your PayPal account. Please ensure that email is still active and if not, contact me so I can resend your key to the email address you prefer (please include the email address related to your PayPal account in the message so I easily identify you).

If after 48h you don't get your user key something really weird is happening. Please check your spam folder and ensure your user key is not incorrectly tagged as spam (you will get an email from pebbleweather@gmail.com).

You can also contact me for getting more details about the status of your key, but please check your spam folder first.

Thanks!

Facing issues to make your settings work?

Escrito por YWeather 15-10-2014 en Support. Comentarios (0)

Some users are facing difficulties when initially seting up YWeather. Usually this is because the geolocation API is not able to locate you, because you are inside a building and you have low GPS signal, or in some rare scenarios because the API itself is running slow and doesn't retrieve the data on a timely manner.

Usually this is fixed by following these simple steps:

1. From the YWeather settings, set the "use GPS" option to NO

2. Manually enter your location.

3 Configure the language and all the rest of the settings at your convenience

4 Submit.

After submitting, the watchface should recognize all your settings and work properly. In most of the cases you should be able to set the "use GPS" back to YES and refresh the data based on you current location (but if you don't travel too much, your phone's battery will appreciate you keep the manual location) but if that still don't work to you, that may be because your Pebble app cannot access to your location services. If so, please ensure your GPS is turned on and Pebble app has access to access it.

Also, some Android users are unintentionally blocking the access to the location services due some "Power Management" options some manufacturers are adding to their custom roms. This also happens to some Cyanogen users, which have something called "Black List". Please, ensure everything is properly configured to allow YWeather access your GPS data.

If after following those steps you are still unable to make it work properly, contact me and I will help you.

Regards!

How to configure your YWeather watchface

Once you install YWeather on your Pebble, the magic begins. However some of the predefined settings are not working for all the users.

If you want to switch from Celsius to Fahrenheit, invert the color or manually set your location (and this way saving some battery by turning off the GPS) you need to go to the YWeather settings on your Pebble App

New features are planned for the future, so don't forget to check your settings periodically to ensure you are enjoying the full YWeather experience.
